JESSE TUESDAY

Ever since I was old enough to hold a crayon I've been drawing pictures. One thing led to another as they often do and I started making my living tattooing in 1990. My first teacher was my brother Riley. At that time he was part of the crew at the world famous Sunset Strip Tattoo in Hollywood. Since then I have worked in some of the best parlors in the business both in Hollywood and San Francisco beginning with Jill Jordan's Red Devil Studios, followed by Pote Seylor's Body Electric, Eddy Deutsche's 222 tattoo, and Freddy Corbin's Temple Tattoo in Oakland. There were many fine and talented people at each of these places who helped shape tattooing as we know it today and I feel fortunate to have been a part of of that.

Here at Tuesday Tattoo I enjoy using the skill and experience I've gained over the years to do tattoos that folks really resonate with. Sometimes that means doing a large full back tattoo. Sometimes that means doing a tattoo that's the size of a dime. Often times it means linking a life time's worth of individual tattoos together so they make a cohesive whole and better represent the wearer. Whatever the case I always strive to give people my best!

Thanks for reading,
Jesse Tuesday

HANNAH WEDNESDAY

I can't remember a time in my life when I haven't been involved in art. As a child, even when I was sick I wanted to draw or color in pictures my mom would sketch for me.

I was born and raised in San Francisco but grew up spending time in both the city and the Sierra Nevada Mountains which gave me a healthy appreciation for the outdoors and small town living. After finishing high school I moved to the far Northern corner of California where I ended up attending Humboldt State University and getting a degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Painting. It was while living in Humboldt County that I got my first tattoos from Brian Kaneko which helped to spark my passion for tattooing and being part of the tattoo community.

Despite my love for rural living, my journey has led me back down here to San Francisco where I served a full apprenticeship with Jesse Tuesday. Now drawing on this, my varied interests and life’s experiences I am enjoying working out here in the little tattoo shop by the sea.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my work! I hope to meet you out at the shop some day.

CANDI KINYOBI

Hollywood native, Candi Kinyobi opted to forego an illustrious sign painting career with San Francisco's New Bohemia Signs to pursue her passion as a tattoo artist. After completing an all-inclusive apprenticeship with Jesse Tuesday in 2012 she assumed the name Kinyobi (Japanese for Friday) and began her career at Tuesday Tattoo.

Candi has a degree in printmaking from University of Santa Cruz and employs her fine art education coupled with her rigorous sign painting and tattoo training in her tattoo designs. Candi has a refined take on lettering and infuses her Japanese identity and graphic sensibility into the large and small custom pieces she designs. Candi has a select number of lettering, illustration and painting commissions available, and can be reached through Tuesday Tattoo.
